The Art Of  - Eric Pigors - Toxic Toons

If you are in the mood for total wierdness, take a look at the work done by the very talented Eric Pigors. You'll need flash to view the animation at Toxic Toons and it's well worth it. The quality animation and the disturbing imagery will suck you in! Wander around his site and if you like it, let him know. A book of his artwork is also available there, along with postcards, stickers, and t-shirts.

A little about Eric in his own words:
"I've been a fan of monster art and Halloween since I was a kid. I remember going to our local 7-11 to pick up Jack Davis's "You'll Die Laughing" cards and BK Taylors'  "Odd Rods" stickers. These two artists, I feel, have influenced me the most. I went to an art school, Brandes Art, which taught animation, but I really feel my art training came from copying from Mad, Cracked, Odd Rods and old animated cartoons. I've worked in the animation business since 1985 and with Walt Disney feature animation since 1987. I've worked on such characters as Ursla in the Little Mermaid, Hades in Hercules and the hyennas in the Lion King. I did some development work on the upcoming film "Treasure Planet" and they are using one of my alien pirate designs, naming him after me, "Pigors". So look for the character with one dangling eye and rotten teeth and slobbering tongue.

I did my own cartoon with a company in Canada called International Rocketship. It was called..........................."Let's Chop Soo-e!" which starred "Nurse Hackit" and "Soo-e the Pig". It was shown on MTV's "Liquid Television" and the "Too Outrageous" animation festival. My own work, which I call "Toxictoons" is a mixture of monsters and mayhem. I like to use collages for the backgrounds from anything like old photos from old 40's magazines to spray painted backgrounds. My goal is to turn my web page into a Halloween special called "Uncle Pigor's Spookhouse" and do some weird, creepy video games with these characters.

Working at Disney's is fun but my heart is in doing my Toxictoons. Some of my work is collaged with meat which I eat but also find disturbing. Mainly the idea of eating something that has been slaughtered so I can stay alive seems weird to me. That and the fact that it just looks so gross. Remember kids, this artwork is more fun to stare at than raw meat!!!!!!!!!!!
